Pneumococcal disease is caused by a type of bacteria. It can lead to different illnesses such as:
Pneumonia (lung infection)Meningitis (infection of the covering of the brain and spinal cord) Sinusitis (sinus infection) Otitis media (ear infection) Sepsis (serious blood infection) This disease can affect people of any age, but it is especially risky for:
Young children / Older adults People with weak immune systems 
Babies get 3 main doses at 6, 10, and 14 weeks of age.
Then they get 1 booster dose at 15–18 months.
Only people who are at high risk (like those with weak immunity, chronic diseases, etc.) need it.
They should take 1 dose of PCV13, and after 1 year, take 1 dose of PPSV23.
All individuals 65 years and older should take the same as high-risk adults:
1 dose of PCV13, then 1 dose of PPSV23 after 1 year.
